I've been experiencing a little withdrawl so anything that had some baseball in it was good enough for me. Lo and behold, I see someone that has an eerie resemblance to Kevin Elster - hottest Met of all time - blending in with all the other B actors in the movie. I immediately check it out on IMDB and it was him, looking as cute as ever. The movie was back in 94 so Kevin was still looking good. It almost took away the disappointment of seeing Kevin's awful aging at the 86 reunion celebration.

Genesis

This has been a long time coming. My journey began on ESPN with Rob Neyer (back when he was still free). Then it lead me to scouring the web for baseball content - strikethree was my first. Ever since my eyes opened to Baseball Prospectus and to my first blog crush - Aaron Gleeman, I've thought about starting my own blog. And here it goes, in my Microsoft Project class, where I'm supposed to be figuring out how to create a custom report but having quickly lost interest, I've finally worked up the courage to start.

To stamp my first post, here is the big Mets news of the day:
Guillermo Mota tests positive for a performance-enhacing substance.
I'm not really a firm believer in the steriod use enhances performance theory. I argue about this with my husband (who is in the eastern medicine field) often. I say clubs take advantage and sign these renegades to cheaper contracts.

And for my blog name sake:
DW hit a HR in the exhibition game against Yomiuri Giants.
Sadly, this did not happen in Game 7 even though I called for DW to break out and have a big game. I've recently gotten over my shellshock and continue to remind myself that this was a good, no a Great year.
But now we look forward to 2007. I think the husband and I are going to make a vacation out of spring training 07 which has gotten me very excited.
